INTRODUCTION
Waste Tyres - Everybody's Problem? Here's Our Solution !
Every automotive business has them - piles of unsightly tyres that take up valuable trading and working space. Depending on your business, old tyres are a constant waste stream that cannot be ignored. All responsible businesses now recognise how important it is that scrap tyres are collected by a legitimate waste carrier. Additionally, more are becoming aware that they themselves must ensure that these tyres do actually reach a legitimate disposal site.
Eastern Waste Disposal Ltd is a well - established and experienced waste disposal Company. Recognising the problem associated with end of use tyres, we have now established a tyre recovery service that is specifically designed to offer a fully compliant, reliable and responsible option to our customers. We are members of the Tyre Industry Council "Responsible Recycler Scheme" and the Tyre Recovery Association which means that by using us as your Registered Waste Carrier, You are ensuring that your Duty of Care responsibilities have been met in full. Copies of our Waste Carriers License are available upon request.
Once established as a customer on our regular collection round, simply phone our dedicated line on 01206 308999 to arrange for your scrap tyres to be collected. To make life as easy as possible, we itemise all tyres into the following categories: Car, 4x4/Van, Light Truck, Heavy Truck, and Plant/Agriculture and we would be pleased to give you an individual quotation for your own business needs based on quantities, mix and turnover. We do not implement a minimum collection requirement, we will accept tyres on rims for an additional cost to the removal of the tyre and a £2.50 Duty of Care administration charge will be applied to each invoice to cover the costs of complying with all legislation requirements.
To ensure that we handle your collection as smoothly as possible, we ask for some relevant information from you before we visit your site. On all visits we ask that you please arrange for our collection staff to have help with loading, for reasons of Health and Safety and to ensure the number and mix of tyres is verified by your own staff at the time of collection. This information will be recorded on a Waste Transfer Note and our staff will ensure you receive a copy for your own records. From this information an invoice will be produced and sent directly to you. We ask that you return payment to us on receipt to ensure that your next collection is not delayed.
Once collected your passenger car tyres will be processed back at our Waste Transfer and Recycling Centre and used to produce Supertrac ® rubber fibre which is then used by the Equestrian Industry for horse arenas, gallops, bridleways and footpaths.
The larger tyres that we are unable to process ourselves will ultimately be shredded and recycled and/or disposed of at a fully licensed site. This may be a facility that is able to use old tyres for energy production, another processor/manufacturer of products directly from old tyres or as a last resort, at a landfill site. However we are always mindful of research and development advances in this area and as progress is made we will strive to increase the amount of tyres that are recovered for further use. |
